This week we learnt about Georgia O’ Keefe an American artist who was known for her paintings of enlarged flowers.
We had fun learning how to mix our colours.
The children are all looking forward to the Cavan , Dublin match tomorrow as they hope for further celebrations next week.
Something Fishy!
The school took part in the ‘Something Fishy Programme’ delivered Inland Fisheries Ireland. This is a programme for primary school pupils which informs and educates students about fish and other creatures that live in our waterways.
We had a visit from Inland Fisheries Ireland on Monday 2nd of March. We got to look at lots of different bugs and fish using microscopes that live in Irish Waterways.
Everyone was looking fabulous in Mrs. Shannon's class. We had some very spooky vampires, cats, witches, spider men, werewolves, skeletons and jokers by the double. Well done everyone for putting in a bug effort. Happy Halloween, enjoy your week off!
Visit to Our Community Garden
All the children were very excited to visit the Community Garden. We were told lots of interesting facts about all the different vegetables that they had planted. We got to taste some grapes, fresh from the vines. We were told all about root vegetables. We were told how the volunteers make their own compost. We do the same in our school! We loved our visit to the Garden.
Mrs. Shannon was so excited to meet her new class in September. We are all looking forward to an exciting and fun year ahead.
We were busy visiting people who work in our community. Trisha Leddy from “Trisha’s Mini Market” was delighted to answer questions by our little interviewers.
The children were delighted with their treats as she made them feel very welcome.
She had some very special customers too.
We were learning about water in May. Have a look at our “Under the Sea” paintings.
Having fun while we learnt about measuring.
We had lots of fun taking part in Maths Week 2019. Mrs. Mc Govern and Mrs. Shannon set up the hall for Maths stations. We had lots of fun doing hands on activities, Maths trails and puzzles.
Seachatain na Gaeilge a bhí ann. Bhí ceilí mór ar siúl. Bhí naionáin agus rang a haon ag damsha Ballaí Luimní. Bhí siad go hiontach ar fad.
“The Sky is the Limit”. Mrs Shannon’s class discussed motto’s and they decided on this one for their class.
We are getting fit! We completed fun relays races as part of athletics in PE in February. It was a quick sprint to the end.
Don’t the children look great dressed all in green for Lá Glas.
