Maths Week

During maths week, 5th and 6th class completed some fun, hands on maths activities.

Maths Trail

We had great fun completing our maths trail. We worked in pairs to complete different maths tasks both inside and outside of the classroom.

Really only one minute?

We completed some ‘time’ activities, where each child stood up, closed their eyes and were asked to sit down when they thought a minute had passed. We also did this activity but instead of standing; we jumped up and down and sat down when we thought a minute had passed.

Kahoot.

We also used our tablets in maths class as we worked in pairs to complete a ‘kahoot’ quiz based on Place Value and Rounding up.

Visual Arts - Our Artist of the month for September was Frida Kahlo. As a class, we read about her life, and looked at some of her work. We also drew our own self-portraits based on Frida Kahlo's work.

As we are in the season of Autumn, 5th and 6th class also painted their own Autumn trees.

Drumlane - There has been great excitement in the school and parish over the last couple of weeks since Drumlane qualified for the county final. In preparation for the big day, our class wrote our own acrostic poems in support of the team.

PE - Throughout the month of September we have had lots of fun in our PE lessons. We played lots of games like dodgeball, soccer, rounder and basketball, as well as doing some relay races. We have also been doing some running in preparation for the upcoming cross country competition.
